Notion Form Feature? / 3 Hidden Tips for Notion Newbies
Simplify project management
↓
Hey everyone, it's Miyavi from Small Wins!
The past couple of weeks have been insane.
After getting sick and falling behind on work, I've been playing catch-up like crazy.
Every day, I've felt like screaming, "Help me!" But even though I'm stressed, I'm actually enjoying the challenge. I mean, who doesn't love a good burnout? (Am I the only one who feels this way?)
Despite the chaos, I've been keeping an eye on Notion's latest updates.
And let me tell you, they've been non-stop!
It feels like they've been releasing new features every week since the end of last year.
Notion is getting its own forms feature?
I was still celebrating Notion's launch of Traditional Chinese when they dropped a sneak peek of a new feature we've all been waiting for: built-in forms!
While Notion already integrates with tons of form tools like NoteForms, Tally, and Typeform, it's never quite the same.Having a native forms feature would be a game-changer.
So, when can we expect Notion forms?
Unfortunately, there's no official release date yet.
For all the new Notion users out there, welcome to the club!
I've been using Notion for project management for about four or five years now, and I've picked up a few tricks along the way.
Here are three of my favorites:
Tip 1: Centralize Your Databases
Before you start designing a new page, create all the necessary databases and store them in a single location.
This will prevent accidental deletion and make your life a lot easier.
For example, I like to keep my databases in the top navigation of my templates.
That way, I know they're safe, no matter how much I edit my pages.
Tip 2: Use Databases for Tasks
I've seen lots of beautiful templates that use to-do lists instead of databases.
While they look great, databases offer more advanced features, like linking to project databases, calculating progress based on task completion, and adding custom properties.
Of course, not every task needs a database. If you have quick, one-off tasks, a simple to-do list is fine.
Tip 3: Mobile-Friendly Design
The order of content on Notion's mobile app
Notion has a mobile app, so it's important to consider how your pages will look on smaller screens.
Here's how Notion displays content on mobile:
1️⃣ I usually put a navigation bar here with a table of contents for easy jumping to different section of the page.
2️⃣ I add page links or buttons here for creating new pages or linking to other pages.
I hope these tips help you get the most out of Notion!
I hope you enjoy this issue. Have a nice day! ☺️
